At the beginning of the year we went up to Bradford to help Benjamin celebrate his official birthday (Having a real birthday on Christmas Day can be a little underwhelming so he has an official birthday on 7th January). We all went into Leeds to look at games and then visited the Armories Museum

Later in January Pauline and Peter took a trip to Prague (-10oC). and spent a very pleasant couple of days walking around the City and enjoying the local cuisine. Such a huge amount to see, and all public transport is free for anyone over 65!

In February the choir visited Bristol Cathedral to sing Evensong. Pauline 3rd from the left on the front. Alice in the middle holding Albert

Sadly, in July we had to say goodbye to our Rector Fr Richard Lamey, who has gone to Norwich. At the time of writing we are still looking for a replacement.
Last summer we had our biennial family holiday which this year was held in Seascale on the Cumbrian coast. All 13 were able to attend (from left to right: Chloe, Maurice, James, Albert, Alice, Finn, Benjamin, Bryony, Megan, William, Peter, Taegan, Pauline). The house we stayed in was right beside the beach and right next to the local train line (much to Albert’s enjoyment). Pauline and Peter with William and Bryony went ahead of the rest, visiting Sizergh castle on the way.

In October Pauline and Peter took a trip into London to enjoy a murder mystery, set in the 1920s The murder happens while you enjoy the meal on the ‘train’.
While we were in London we looked at some of the street art on Leake Street and Pedley Street

As a birthday treat we took William to see the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. We had a great day out, travelling to Greenwich by water taxi, enjoying pie and mash, the visit to the ship, then back by water taxi, a visit to Covent Garden to see the lights and enjoy the street musicians, plus London at night.

16 Dec 2024What a lovely blog of your activities over the last year! I particularly enjoyed listening to the recording of the choir in Bristol Cathedral – so gentle and peaceful.
Seasons greetings to all and wishing you a happy new year.
